Celebrating Five Years of Impact: Enyindigbo × IMWM 2025 Charity Gala

On Saturday, 9th August, Enyindigbo UK, alongside our sister organization, Igbo Women Movement Worldwide (IWMW), celebrated a significant milestone: five years of empowering Igbo women and communities globally. We marked this amazing occasion in style in the heart of Paris, a city renowned for its culture, beauty, and timeless elegance.

Guided by the visionary leadership of Dame Chinwe (Adaigbo Gburugburu), the Convener, and Dr. Nkeiruka N. Onyia, the Executive Director, along with the esteemed Members of the Management Committee, IWMW persistently advocates for the empowerment, dignity, and advancement of Igbo women globally.

The festivities kicked off early with a memorable tour of Paris, organized by our Paris Dame Chinwe. As participants arrived from the UK, Nigeria, Europe, the US, and other regions, it provided a wonderful chance for a pre-event gathering where we explored the city together sharing laughter, strengthening bonds, reconnecting, and creating memories that perfectly set the tone for the evening.

The evening celebration that followed was an outstanding success, with over 250 people coming together to honour our culture, our achievements, and our shared mission.

One of the highlights of the night was the remarkable cultural dance performance delivered by our members. After months of rehearsals across countries and time zones, they came together in Paris to present a breath-taking display of Igbo artistry, discipline, and sisterhood.

The evening featured inspiring presentations from keynote speakers, who passionately discussed the community development initiatives we've embarked on, cultural preservation, and our shared responsibility to Alaigbo. Their messages were powerful and left a lasting impression on all attendees.

A major highlight of the anniversary celebration was the Investiture Ceremony, where the Movement formally recognised new leaders and supporters whose contributions strengthen IWMW’s foundation and outreach. His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr. Chris Chidume, Igwe Omor, Igwe Igulube, was invested as the Grand Patron of the Igbo Women Movement Worldwide. A respected monarch, industrialist, and philanthropist, Igwe Dr. Chidume’s leadership and commitment to community development reflect the values of excellence, service, and cultural pride that IWMW embodies.

In addition, three distinguished personalities were honoured and inducted as Patrons of IWMW:

  • Her Excellency Chief Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo

  • Chief Nze Aloy Oluigbo

  • Mazi Obi Okoli (Ojeluigbo Ozi)

  • Chief Chibuzo Okolo

Their inclusion strengthens IWMW’s advisory and leadership network, ensuring sustained collaboration and impact.
